Empowering Trust

Ever have a moment or two in. in your life that causes you to take a step back and reflect? I had one, well more than one of those this past weekend that made me say 'wow', I mean it grabbed me and shook me to my core and challeged my heart. I was fortunate enough to be invited by a family member that I have great respect for to join him at his church for a men's conference.  I have been to a few conferences over the years and I always have a moment of epiphany where I think something hits home.  this one was different, maybe because I only knew a couple people in the room, maybe my heart and mind were more open, or maybe the prayers prayed were setting their roots in me.  whatever the reason,  I heard God's word that day in a way that tore my heart apart and began to rebuild it anew.

Later that same day I attended an empowerment conference that also had some aha moments within that took me back.  Spending the afternoon with former athletes sharing their success as well as their failure makes us realize that everyone is vulnerable to the failings of a dream.  The game changer is how we handle it, pick ourselves and begin again. Sometimes this means cutting certain people out of your life and in turn out of your head.  It is all a matter of who you are listening to, what you read and what you believe and have faith in.

After this weekend it has been a bit of a struggle this week to settle back into the routine of work and the rest of life's monotony.  I notice the negative world even more, I have renewed energy ready to pursue my dreams.   No longer is it okay to muddle through my days without intention.  I find starting and ending my days on my knees in prayer a necessity rather than a chore.  The grateful nature that abound from my heart makes me hopeful and determined not only to remain changed but to change other lives in the process. So reach for your goals, don't let go of your dreams unless in place of a new one and most of all let me or someone else you trust if you need help.

Blessings,
-C

Flatlining the Heartbeat

The heartbeat of men in America has flatlined.

When we look around ... where are the men of honor and integrity?   Our society is being overrun by metrosexual, wife beating, saggy pants wearing pansies.  I know that sounds pretty harsh but when all we see are empty churches and full jails.  When it has become cool to be disrespectful and no longer have manners.  When men dress like girls and there are manbags and fanny packs as an accessory.  The men that this country was founded by and for are few and far between.

It used to be okay to open the door for a lady, not unusual.  It used to be okay to read your Bible and not be mocked or scorned.  It used to be okay to say yes sir and no ma'am without being looked at like you had the mouth of a sailor.  It used to be okay to live by the ten commandments and believe in the Constitution and not be considered an extremist.

So men, at least those that still consider themselves men, it is time we stand together and take our country back.  This starts at home where we take the lead of our family, we no longer sit back and let life happen.  Lift yourself up by your bootstraps or shoelaces and take your mancard back.  Become examples in your church and community that others may follow.  It is no longer okay to accept things the way they are.  If we do not have leaders worth following we must become the leaders.  Stand by your beliefs, stand up for your country,  join your brothers in Christ in accepting the challenge to take our country back.

Hold on for the Change

What are you waiting for?

Have the voices in your head stopped you from your dreams?

Do you allow the critics in your family and friends deter you from stretching?

It is time to trust and jump..

There is purpose for our lives ...
     ....no matter if..
You are a teacher wanting to be a missionary.
You are a computer geek with a higher need.
You are a homemaker with big dreams.
A CEO tired of faking it in the rat race.
An entrepreneur searching for the next big break.
Whatever you want to be it is up to you..

Hide the fears of being a mistake, know that you are made for more.   You are set apart from all others to do your life's work not the work of others.  Ignore the critics that chain you with their own broken dreams.  Become a cynic and don't listen to a word they say, they are not following your path and they are being used to wobble you along the way.  Spend time alone reflecting on who you are to be, and while you are on your knees take a moment to listen...you might be amazed at what you will hear.

Once you find your dream .. go after it with reckless abandon ..you can do it..give it all you can..never be afraid to turn to the one that set you on your path when you have doubts, step out on the edge and don't be afraid..your dreams are within reach.
